A father and a husband, but above all, the editor-in-chief of this blog
The name "Papacito" came about through Reels shared by a friend as a nickname for the father-to-be. Even though the character in those Reels played a slightly different role, I think the name captures my role as the caregiver of a toothless little rascal quite well — unless better suggestions come up.
The blog, on the other hand, was launched back in early 2025. The idea was to write from a man's perspective about pregnancy, the waiting period, and, of course, parenthood itself. Well, the pregnancy progressed, my belly grew, and a toothless little rascal was born. Along the way, the "future Papacito" turned into a real-deal Papacito.
The start of my parental leave prompted me to dust off the long-neglected Papacito blog. Now the goal is to share the day-to-day life with a baby from a man's perspective, as well as the growth of both father and son. Honestly and seriously, but not too seriously. This isn't going to be a parenting guide, so you can forget right away about the image of a male "glossy magazine dad" and a perfect, glossy-magazine-style daily life. Here, I'll talk about things as I experience them — sometimes beautifully, sometimes a little more crudely. You can send customer feedback directly to the spam folder via the contact form.
I still don't know what I'm doing or what I should be doing, but I don't think many others really know either. We'll get by through trial and error, practical experience, and questionable humor. Cheers!
